Nike is not, nor has ever been down. In '96, when skating meant running from the police in the street everyday, Nike cut their losses and quit because skaters didn't just throw money at them. We could have used a multibillion-dollar-a-year company on our side to help build public skateparks or change liability legislation to legalize our sport. They intend to do as little as possible to stay in the market. Birdo says he's willing to lose the business over his "don't do it" campaign. You think nike is down enough to go out of business to stay in skating? Loyalty still means something to me.
